These two systems receive light via separate optical pathways, which means that focus inaccuracies can arise when the AF sensor and imaging sensor function under slightly different parameters. This is because the AF system of a DSLR is typically housed at the base of the body, while the imaging sensor sits at the heart of it. Sometimes, there is a discrepancy between the AF system and the camera's sensor. While it can be frustrating, it's not always down to user error.

After several days, and numerous emails that included Focal test-results and photos of my lighting setup, Reikan Support threw-up their hands up and, somewhat reluctantly, refunded me. After getting nothing but wacky, inconsistent results I emailed their Support team.
